The checker reads rendered dimensions only. It does not upload files, change images, or test Merchant Center approval.

What this result means

Dimension evidence, not approval proof

A 500 x 500 result means both rendered dimensions meet the announced minimum. It does not prove the image is accurate, accessible, under 16 MB, correctly framed, or approved by a destination.

Image checker questions

When does Google's 500 x 500 image requirement start?

Google says enforcement begins January 31, 2027. Its help page also says warnings began in July 2026 for images above the current minimums but below 500 x 500.

What are the current image minimums before January 31, 2027?

Google currently documents at least 250 x 250 pixels for apparel and 100 x 100 pixels for other products. The checker keeps those urgent cases separate from the upcoming 500 x 500 warning.

Will Google automatically optimize every small image?

No. Google says it may serve an optimized version in some cases. Treat that as a conditional fallback, not a guarantee or a replacement for accurate source media.

Does a 500 x 500 result guarantee Merchant Center approval?

No. This tool checks rendered width, height, and the documented 64 megapixel ceiling. It does not verify file size, image accuracy, product framing, accessibility, source rights, feed status, or approval.
