Mismatched value (page crawl) [price]

Mismatched Value Price in Shopify: Merchant Center Fix Guide

A price mismatch is a consistency problem across a particular offer, not simply a request to type the displayed number into Merchant Center. Compare the same variant, market, currency, sale state, and checkout path at the time Google observed the page.

Priority

Fix first

Where to check

Shopify admin > Products > product > variant pricing; Google & YouTube settings

What the message means

Google compares submitted product data with the landing page and purchase path. The submitted price and currency must match what a shopper in the target country can see and pay. Variant selection, sale dates, market pricing, currency conversion, member prices, coupon-only discounts, stale synchronization, or structured-data output can produce different observations.

Compare these three records

Keep the item ID, variant, target country, currency, and observation time aligned while troubleshooting.

1

Merchant Center final price

Record the affected item's final price, sale price, currency, target country, and variant attributes. Note Google's observation timestamp when the issue provides one.

2

Shopify variant and market

Open the exact variant in Shopify and check its base price, compare-at price, market adjustments, currency, publication state, and active discounts. A parent product's minimum price is not enough.

3

Landing page and checkout

Visit the product as a normal shopper in the target market. Confirm the selected variant price, visible currency, structured offer data, and checkout amount agree without requiring an unavailable coupon or paid membership.

Fix sequence

  1. Step 1: Compare Merchant Center's final price with the same Shopify variant, currency, landing page, and checkout state.
  2. Step 2: Confirm sale prices and their dates are synchronized and that a coupon-only or member price is not submitted as the standard price.
  3. Step 3: Trigger or wait for the channel refresh after Shopify pricing changes instead of editing only one destination.

Avoid these wrong fixes

Editing only Merchant Center

A direct destination edit can be overwritten by the next Shopify synchronization and leaves the source, landing page, and feed out of agreement.

Comparing the cheapest variant

Google evaluates a specific item and variant. Matching the feed against a parent-level 'from' price can hide the actual mismatch.

Submitting a private discount as the normal price

Coupon-only, first-purchase, or member pricing has separate requirements. The standard submitted price must remain available under Google's current pricing rules.

Verify after synchronization

  1. 1Open the exact product variant in the target market and record its visible price and currency.
  2. 2Confirm the same amount reaches checkout and the page's structured offer data.
  3. 3Trigger or wait for the Shopify data-source refresh and compare Merchant Center's final attributes again.
  4. 4Allow Google to recrawl the page, then verify the original mismatch clears rather than relying on an immediate page edit.

Questions

Why does Merchant Center still show a mismatch after I fixed Shopify?

The source can be corrected before the destination refreshes or recrawls the page. Confirm the final Merchant Center attribute changed, then allow processing time before judging the result.

Can automatic item updates solve every price mismatch?

No. Automatic updates can reduce some temporary inconsistencies, but they do not replace accurate, regularly synchronized product data and a landing page that shows the same purchasable price.
